Im using cubase 5. what should I set the following settings for the audio device to: audio priority ( is on normal), disk preload (2 seconds) record shift (0 samples). multiprocessing is on, and adjust for record latency is on.

What are you trying to achieve?
By most standards, default works.

well i seem to get pop's n clicks on the virus ti using VC, and they happen more often when I press play in Cubase, and for a second or 2 after pressing play. So it makes me think that It could be something like disk preload, audio priority... or something (although i admit that i don't really understand what these settings do). But, the pops and clicks are only happening on the virus, and my buffer is easily high enough so it's deffinatly not a CPU issue.

Pops and clicks generally result from one of two things:

a) ASIO latency set too low
b) Too much DSP power being used at once

Option b) explains it less often as the Virus normally just mutes the notes it doesn't have the power to play, so it comes out pretty smooth and nice.

I'd suggest checking your ASIO settings. It might be that you're using the Windows Default ASIO controller instead of the one on your audio interface, or the Virus itself.
