Juho, I'd seriously consider a dedicated module of some sort. I used Battery for a year and a bit and went through loads of samples but it never really sounded professional and sounded like a computer was making it.

I got a Boss DR880 box and the quallity of the samples on it beat any software / drum library I had and they sit in the mix perfectly - something I found hard to do on Battery. It's got lots of very realistic snares and lovely, crisp cymbals.

Have listen to the demo:

OK, compare a Machinedrum to samples on Battery and tell me it's all in the head.

I found a really good set of realistic drums: Sonic Reality - Reality Drums.
Great low-cost set of real sounding drums. Only 50 $.

I thought you'd say that Vvanrij. Ok, I've used Battery and gone through a shit load of supposed professional samples and they don't sound as good as my DR880, that's all. Of course I'd trade it in for a Machinedrum -I'd be silly not to, but with the DR880 you get big long samples of crash cymbals, rides gongs, toms and snares that are really good quality and I've found it has been worth getting this rather than messing round with sample CDs. The DR880 cost me ?199 and even if I got a Machinedrum I'd still keep it because it's got all your generic samples that you can apply to different genres.

The build quality on the DR880 is absolute dog eggs by the way

Any MP3 demos of your own, to maybe show it off? Factory demos are always kinda lame.

Purchasing a Novation Drumstation has solved pretty much all my drum woes.

The sound of it is a dream and the only thing better out there is the MachineDrum IMO

Of course the real 808s and 909s aren't bad, but I've got MIDI with the Drumstation and the sounds are equally as phat
