Default noob question

hey!

As I understand, I can use the Virus C patches available for download.. (yes?). What about the other viruses. Are the sound patches compatible? I read a similar post about this on this forum, but dont think it was fully answered.

I think you would be able to load all different patches into different Virus' but some have less features/polyphony etc (OSC, LFO's???) so I think some patches wont sound the same in an A, if designed on a C for instance...

Im not 100% sure though.....Im not much of an expert

Yep Jase is along the right lines.

If you have a Virus C you will be able to load *ALL* the patches...even the ones made on the Virus a and b. The patches will sound identical. However, if you had a Virus a or b....and you tried to load patches that were made specifically on the Virus c....then you might find that some of the sounds may sound different to that was intended. The reason might be that a sound uses lots of onboard eq or uses the new moog filter. Obviously the Virus a and b version dont have onboard eq or moog filter.....so you'd expect the sound to sound a bit different.
