Default Explosion sound effect

How would I go about programming an explosion sound on the Virus?

Might be easier just to find some samples......and then start layering and twisting them.

There are heaps of samples out there for film etc....wouldnt know where to start trying to program one on the virus though

Good luck!

Maybe start with a low oct sine wave. Play with FM, Saturation and heavy reverb

1. Noise to max
2. Low frequency lowpass with rather fast decay, medium sustain and slow time decay.
3. Add saturation and other effects for extra grittiness if needed.
4. If it still doesn't sound righ you could try to make a totally dissonant low noise by FM and ringmod.
5. Add lots of reverb.
