Default Fat pad

Hi there!

Is there anyone here that can tell me if it's possible to make a fat superwave pad like the one roland jp-80x0 ca create. I have a Virus TI desktop. And if it's possible how do you create one from scratch?

On my Virus b, I use PWM with a fairly fast LFO rate modulating the PW. The trick is to detune the oscillators and turn on Unison with a wide spread to make it sound really full. Then just adjust the envelopes to your liking. Sorry if this is too vague. There's a great Virus pad tutorial at www.trance.nu.

Peace \/

the reason the called it superSAW is because it contains saw waves not pulse waves :P

im not a virus TI owner but in thory i would say:
open 1 Hypersaw oscilator and start detuning till you like it.
not enough? add another hypersaw oscilator, need more meat? use the sub osc.
still missing some "Dutch"ness ? use some unison voices.
its that simple.

[D-tune]

I'll tell ye something for nothing, though, it's a shame you can't modulate the PWM of the HyperSquare? sub oscillators.

Why not go the whole hog and let the wavetables and all other waves be Hyper-ified, too?

Is it possible that the Hypersaw is just a Wavetable with two indexes in a 3d way? One dimension is Density and the other is Detune. That can explain how it only uses one standard voice.

that make perfect sense but then again,
on the jp80*0 and the Vsynth the supersaw waveform "eat" as much polyphony as a standart "thin" waveform like sine, square, triangle etc...
maybe we should ask forward this question to the virus chat,im sure someone there can ask one of the software developers.

They can be - it's called Unison

The original question never had the word SAW in it.
