Default TI Desktop vs TI Snow

Hello, All:

What are the main differences? Until previously, I thought that Snow was merely the desktop version of the TI 61. I didn't realize that there was a TI desktop that was different from the Snow. So, is the Snow merely a sexier, stripped-down version of the desktop? The Desktop appears to have more features and more presets, as well more knobs for easier programming, etc. And I can get a used desktop for not much more than a new Snow. My needs:

1. a synth I can play right out of the box
2. lots of presets.

In the future, I would probably like to try learning some synthesis techniques and programming, but not for at least several months to a year.

I really don't know much about the "integration" part of TI, but I understand the desktop has more features than the Snow.

Which would you recommend? Thanks.

The Snow has 1/2 the polyphony and is only 4 parts multytimbrle. That and the size and knobs are the only differences. Ive seen used desktops cheaper than Snows but It depends on what you like. Sometimes I wish I had a snow to take out with me, the polar is rather heavy for a small sized keyboard.
