Default Never owned a synth!!!

Ok the TI is going to be my first synth.

I have watched both the videos and have gone from being semi interested to pinging off the walls, god knows how you lot have been able to stand the wait.

What I want to know is can the TI be used for drums and base sounds?

I don't know if it would be better to buy the KC if I am going to have to wait over 6 months to get one.

Any advice much appreciated.

You mean drum'n'bass, the style?

If so, yeah the virus is pretty good at it and the TI should really KICK ASS for that kind of stuff. Wavetable would be perfect for those weird ambiances and the HYPERSQUARE should be LOTS of fun for those dnb basses

Lead synths, pads and bass are the strenghts of the virus IMO.
Can be used for some percs(toms and maybe hats) but not the greatest synth for that kind of stuff.

There is no ultimate all in 1 solution when it comes to synth but the virus is pretty much the best all around synth on the market.

It?s great for many kinds of sounds (especially for basses and psykedelic acid lines) but i almost never use it for drums and if i do i use it in conjunction with other drums. It can be used for everything but i just can?t make the drums sound right.

If you've never owned a synth before, then you'll probably be pretty blown away by the TI. For starting purposes, it can do drums. Once you've had a couple months and figured it out a little, you'll probably want a dedicated drum sampling plugin like LinPlug's RMIV, Native Instruments' Battery, or Spectrasonics Stylus RMX. One of those programs and the Virus TI should pretty much cover you for trance...

Yes sampling is the way to go my friend. Synthesized drums sound shite IMO.
