Then stop using it. I think I'll keep it up, though. A lot of people take offense to what I say...I think they just get too easily offended. Like most people, I have friends who are 'actually' gay, and when they do something stupid, I call them gay 'in the derogatory way' all the time. By the same token, when I say/do something stupid, one of them always says, "You are so NOT gay!"

The term has changed enough that it's not a reflection of ill-will towards homosexuals, and if a person isn't big enough to grasp that...well, he's gay. Stripped of a context of hate and prejudice, it no longer becomes a harmful word. It's only when a bigoted idiot starts mouthing off about his prejudices that we need worry, and obviously this isn't one of those times.

....nothing to do with shagging in those instances. It's evolved. Actually Fuck is one of the most dynamic and versatile words around.

However, it still doesn't qualify for "your gay" in the context of the word, so I voted "no" (going on the experience thus far).

First time I've seen a thread go completely off topic from the first post!

I think judging by the posts here, people are starting not to give a fuck if the TI gets released or not. Although people do seem to care how the word "gay" is used.

I have a gay friend back home in Ausi who wasn't offended at all if I called him gay. However he was offended when I started to call him Nancy on a regular basis.

I know a couple of gay people that are not at all offended when called B?sse (male gay in danish) and a lot of them use the word on themselves and almost seem proud of it...

You're right most people are pretty open about it(at least danishes) but still there's people left that are offended.
