Well then surely you havent heard "Music for the jilted generation"????

Actually, what am I talking about? "Experience" for me is where its at. Pure class. I never bothered with any of the albums in between "Jilted generation" and the new one, they just didnt do it for me. Way too pop.
Jase, Jase, Jase....
The best tracks on Jilted would have to be the ones that paved the way for FOTL (Posion, Their law). Not sure about your pop comment there either - "Magic people Voodoo people" or "Tell stories about
all the young girls".

Seriously, now that you're getting into production a heap more, take another listen and compare FOTL to the newest (or compare it to jilted). FOTL definitely kicks people in the nuts who speak heatedly about the newest Daw software. That album would even sound good over a phone line!
Gotta agree, FOTL is a beautiful piece of engineering. I didn't rate AlwaysONO, at all. It was/is rank. Don't know wtf Howlett was doing. An overdistorted shitty mess. BTW, he used Reason for it. Personally, though, I reckon it must have been the Thermionic Culture Vulture that caused the god-awful shitty mess throughout.

PS > A "must read" - Interview with Howlett over AONO: http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/Oct0...es/prodigy.htm - He seems a really decent bloke!

Cheers for the link Timo!

Ok HC....I will endeavour to have a listen to FOTL. But one thing, for me anyways, is that when I listen to an album, I not only hear the music, but also remember the time and place where I listened to it most, which brings up feelings of nostalgia, so I think regardless, I will always like "Experience", and "Jilted generation" because of the times they remind me of.

Know what I mean?

Anyways, I reckon I can pick up FOTL for a tenner from one of those cheap CD places

Yup, definitely know what you mean Jase. Hope you find a copy of it somewhere - let us know when you do.

And another thing, I don't understand why Liam said on AONO that he was "getting back to the beats", as that was what Prodigy was originally all about.

Wtf! FOTL had excellent drums and programming, hands-down! Moreso than AONO, imho.

And that dirge with Liam Gallagher! Keith should've definately vocalised that one, and that would've helped it sound, at least, a little bit less crap...

meh.

PS > Definate "Virus" filter usage on the track The Way It Is, from 9 to 16 seconds in.

I'm not sure what he meant by that either actually. Oh well, I'm still looking forward tot he next one - just hope it's more like his older stuff.

Still a master in my eyes though.

Just curious.
Greetz...
As far as Hardware sequencers, I just picked up a Roland MC 909. Its fun, Im still dicking around with it. Not sure yet if Im gonna hang onto it. For software, Acid Pro 5.0 and Protools 6.4 with an assload of plugins and a few VST's. I've been trying to make myself use Protools more, but I always revert back to writing stuff on Acid, because the learning curve on PT is somewhat steep.
