Thumbs down Registering at virusti.com

I'm trying to register at virusti.com, and get a message that the admin want to screen my registration. That was like 2 weeks ago. Then I tried registering with another e-mail adress. Same result. Two emails to the admins have resulted in.. Nothing! As a result, I'm not allowed to do -anything- there yet. What is going on? Anyone else having these problems?

Best,
Alex

I guess VirusTI's site really doesn't care about new users. They are happy with their 5 posts a day. It's too bad they don't have a better way to join. I would really like to be part of their community. I am almost thinking of starting a new site that people can actually join. As you can tell by this post, I am VERY frustrated at this point.

Out of curiosity, as we're always open to ideas how to make this site better, why would you like to contribute to VirusTI land and not here?

Cheers

Timo

Well for my part I was going to join cause I wanted to participate in the soundset-compilation there. But I guess that can be done here as well! I even have the possibility to host something like that, as does several of you guys I guess.

I was also eager to join the thread about the new os and atomizer. All of which can be discussed here as well For me it's not like one is "better" than the other, I'd just like to be part of both communities. It seems it's not going to happen quite yet though, as nothing has happened for me atleast.

Aaand.. I've been contemplating doing some other stuff as well, but until I go through with it I think I'll keep it to myself for now

Best,
Alex

I like this site a lot!!! I am just not sure whether alot of TI users are on here. I don't see a lot of responses from TI folks or topics about TI. I just wanted to be able to be on both forums. Honestly, they (VirusTI) don't seem to get to many posts. When i look, they usually have about 5-10 threads updated at any one time. What i would like to see here is alot more TI users... But, that has nothing to do with you or your site.

Regards,
Mike

Timo, I think what separates the forums is Virus TI specifically focuses on the TI and I suspect people assume that it must be better because the TI is the current model family. Access also officially post there. I gather that Access also posted here but left in disgust some time ago. Whatever the reasons, VirusTI has more technical discussions - and these are pretty interesting with computer OS updates and TI OS versions. Having said that, you yourself Timo, posted a razor sharp comment on the current state of PC and Mac OS and technologies recently here on Infekted.

This board can be as good as VirusTI. But I do feel its less comfortable to discuss my TI on Infekted. I dont' know what the percentage of TI owners are on this board and maybe that's the problem, who are the posters here?

Just for the record I use a TI only in MIDI mode so I don't fit as a TI computer user or a Virus A-to-Classic user. The more variety the better.

Cheers,
BF

Hey LivePsy, if I remember correctly, the frustration many users voiced on this forum with regard to the Ti was in the midst of the initial releases of the OS and their corresponding issues. I don't remember exactly (as I'm a C-series owner and didn't pay much attention really), but I guess some flaming went on, but I don't think any of it was directed at TI USERS, just the Ti/Ti OS/VC/and general frustration with Access at the time.

So, please don't feel "less comfortable" posting about a Ti on this board. As for Access not posting to this site, I cannot comment as to what caused that to occur, that is their call. I do feel it is unfortunate though that they disassociate in any way from their user base, past or present, because (1) A/B/C series owners might very well become Ti/Ti mkii owners in the future, and (2) I think they should consider how the frustrated Ti users did feel at the time, they spent several thousand dollars on a (long awaited) board that, like it or not, fell short of expectations and caused alot of problems for alot of its users, those users had a right to feel frustrated, but I do agree, should not have flamed.

So, it would be great, as far as I'm concerned, if Access could forgive their (formerly) frustrated Ti owners who did flame during that time, and not turn their back on them via disassociating from this forum.

This forum is not to blame for the heated temperment of that period of time, the blame rests equally on the shoulders of Access and the members of this forum who did "flame." The board is blameless, it is not alive, it is merely a place on the Internet where individuals communicate. If Access wants an apology from this forum I'll be happy to extend it as an Administrator as that is the adult thing to do, try to mend bridges and allow good will to exist again, not to remain sour over circumstances that nobody premeditated but were frustrating to endure.

I love Access! They invented the Virus! Come on everyone, kiss and make up...

Administratively yours,

-Alex
