Default Hooking up Virus Snow + Profire 610 to Ableton 8

Hi all,

Just purchased a Snow yesterday and have had some fun tinkering so far. I have a question about the best way to set up for Ableton...Here's what I'm working with.

Equipment:
Unibody 2009 Macbook Pro 15"
Ableton Live 8
M-Audio Profire 610
AK25 controller
Virus TI Snow

I have gotten the Snow to work properly in Ableton with the AK25 plugged into the Macbook and the Virus also plugged in. What I can't figure out is how to route the Virus through the Profire interface.

Do I want to use both 1/4" outputs L/R to go into the inputs in back of the Profire, or should I only use one output 1/4" jack to one input on the interface?

Do I even need to plug the Virus into the computer if I am running the Profire? It seems to me that it should go Virus > Profire via Firewire > Macbook in order to take advantage of the low-latency from Firewire as opposed to USB. Am I right there?

Sorry for the basic questions...I'll be very pleased if someone can help a newb like me figure it out

Thanks in advance!
