For playing live I use Multi mode, since most songs need more than one patch. If you put the Multis for your live set in consecutive locations, you can simply navigate between them using +/- buttons. If the multis are far away from each other (e.g. one song is #20 and the next #60), you can use any MIDI controller with buttons/pads that can send a MIDI program change (PC) message. For example, I play a desktop Virus with a Novation Remote SL keyboard, and programmed the drum pads on it to send a PC message for specific songs.

Note that you must enable switching Multis with PC messages, it's a setting in Config menu. However, the patch on the main MIDI channel will also be affected (how stupid is that ), so I set the main MIDI channel to 16, which I don't use for playing anyway.

Hope this helps.
