Default Takes a licken but keeps on ticken

My virus kb has lived as rough live. It's been knocked off my kb stand twice, once breaking output 1 L & R and bending and denting the back plate and the other twisting the chassis. Also two keys have been broken by my guitar player droping his ax on it. The keyboard controller crystal was defective only exposing itself after os installs above 4.5 and was replaced. The Mod wheel screws became loose and fell out. Now it freezes randomly but more often when the room tempature is higher and with patches having long release times. Access support has been A++++ Like the scars on my body, each mark on my virus kb has a story. Though it's a little less durable than my Nord Lead 2, probably due to the heavy keys, I still keep it very clean and take good care of it and don't see parting with it ever.

About 4-5 weeks ago...I went a bit mad >> http://www.sunesha.nu/virusforum/viewtopic.php?t=1368

It wasnt the European heatwave making me mad..........No sir. It was the fact that on the 15th Aug my Virus KC went back to Germany b'cos of a cracked key(Not through neglect on my part). The truth is, I just cannot believe the run of bad luck ive had with the Virus KC.....Ive had to return 3 defective Virus' since June '03. Ive had very little time to get to know my Virus.....and sometimes I think to myself that it was a mistake buying it

*When I originally joined this forum...I had the intention of contributing something positive, to share and design sounds, to share tips and to exchange knowledge..........

As of 17th of Sept I'm still without my Virus According to my dealer...the Virus is still in Germany and hasnt been repaired yet. I cannot adequatley express to you guys how genuinely pissed off I am. Do any of you guys think im having exceptionally bad luck?

DS

Shit happens.

Get a desktop version and a large midi keyboard.

Then you`ll not have any problems. The major amount of defects are on the KC model for some reason.

Hmmm.....that would make sense. Do you know that as matter of fact or rumor?

This whole experience concerns me a little. Did all you guys know...that if something goes wrong...your unit will have to be sent back to Germany to be fixed? Im suprised there are no Access technical guys in the UK that cant fix the problem. Its really inconvenient to have to wait 5 + weeks to get the problem fixed. Whats gonna happen if in 10yrs time Access disapear? Who's gonna be repairing/service the Virus then?

I hope Access are stockpiling parts for their synthesizers...b'cos in my experience digital synths start fuking up after 12-15 yrs (cheap digital components and plastic knobs/low profile buttons etc etc).

Ah well....thats life I guess

Ive heard a few other people having problems with the KC on other forums such as future producers. They had problems with the knobs and keys becoming faulty.
