Default Changing patches

Prolly a stupid question but is there any other way of changing through patches in VC other than dragging them from the browser window?
When I press + or - value buttons it changes to the RAM presets instead.
Am I kinda stupid or is this function???
Cheers fellas

You can double click in the browser, after that you can use arrow keys and it changes instantly.
