You want to connect your keyboard to the computer and then your computer to the synth module.

It depends. Do you have a MIDI interface (if not, GET ONE)?

If yes:
Keyboard MIDI IN -> Interface MIDI OUT (if you keyboard has MIDI IN)
Keyboard MIDI OUT -> Interface MIDI IN
Virus MIDI IN -> Interface MIDI OUT
Virus MIDI OUT -> Interface MIDI IN
Computer MIDI IN -> Interface MIDI OUT (or by USB depending on the interface)
Computer MIDI OUT -> Interface MIDI IN (or by USB depending on the interface)

If no (your keyboard have MIDI IN and MIDI THRU):
Computer MIDI OUT -> Keyboard MIDI IN
Keyboard MIDI THRU -> Virus MIDI IN
Virus MIDI THRU -> Computer MIDI IN

If no (your keyboard dosn?t have MIDI IN and MIDI THRU):
Keyboard MIDI OUT -> Computer MIDI IN
Computer MIDI OUT -> Virus MIDI IN

With the last option you won?t be able to record knob movements or other controller info from the virus, update it or backup your patches. In other words: Get a MIDI interface...

Ahh you have a midi interface in your keyboard

Your keyboard is connected to your pc with USB, and you can connect your freakin' virus c with 1 or 2 midi cables to your keyboard and your DONE!

Just buy 2 midi keyboards, and read in your keyboard manual on how to connect.

Good luck!

A MIDI interface is a box with multible MIDI IN/OUT. Good if you have more synths as it allows you to use all 16 channels on each MIDI port. A cheap interface with 4 IN?s and 4 OUT?s is M-audio?s Midisport 4X4: http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_u...T4x4-main.html witch goes for around 875 dkr (approx. 115 ? or 140 US$) in Denmark (proberbly cheaper in any other country). You could also buy one used of Ebay or something...

Vvanrij,

not quite - if the keyboard is connected via USB then it is best to connect the computer to the synth and leave the keyboard connected via USB.

Otherwise the sequencer will play the synth via the keyboard = added latency and unecessary

Lukas, Onkel Dunkel was being daft about the MIDI cables although he and the others are quite right about the MIDI interface...

What keyboard are you using? If you are using a USB keyboard then just connect your computer to the synth and allow MIDI thru the sequencer.

If you have no USB then ideally you will need a MIDI interface. Let us know the controller keyboard you use.
