recording audio in cubase5

having a problem getting this to work just now, doing all the usual stuff, mute all tracks apart from the one i want to record.

select an audio track, and record... it then comes up with the recorded part, but has no wave at all.

answers if you have them please.

Have you enabled the audio track as well? In the VST mixer panel at the top of the sliders there's a small grey button ("In"). Click this one, also make sure that you've clicked on the audio track in the arranger window, it must be selected. In options, audio setup, make sure that audio is enabled, not disabled. Try this and come back if it doesn't help...

thanks, i tried what you said, but all seems fine.
got a feeling its to do with soundcard settings somewhere along the line.

as it records the part, but when i double click it, it looks as if it hasnt recorded anything.
