They went bankrupt. I don't know the reason why but I guess people were buying other products like access and novation more than waldorf. Maybe Waldorf couldn't sell their products at lower prices (however microQ was reasonably priced sometimes) and their new products were very highly priced such as the Q+ (euro 4000), AFB analog filter bank (euro 2500) etc. and maybe people didn't like the thin waldorf sound as much as the other fatter sounding synths. Waldorf should have continued to produce the Pulse or even bring a Pulse keyboard out or something. That would have been supercool! I own a Pulse and it still is one of the fattest sounding boxes I have ever owned. It will definitely never leave my rack.
In fact I am going to buy a Waldorf MicroQ tomorrow to extend the sound palette of my rack. I like waldorf sound too but I wouldn't buy a Waldorf if it was going to be my only synth. I have had already 2 microQ's before. This time I'll try harder to be able to keep this one. It has some great sounds and the filter is good.
