Default Ach!!! Lieber Gott Im Himmel!!!

Hello mates,

It's been a god awful few weeks here in sunny Florida.

I've been studying and doing massive amounts of homework non-stop, and I am sick and bloody tired of it.

But, there is hope. After 2 more long nights and a little more grief, my first semester in graduate school is done. Christmas break! Yippeeeee!!! No school until January 7, 2008!

The rest of the year is really busy however. My Dad comes for a weekend visit next week, then my Mother-in-law and her boyfriend visit for 2 weeks after that, which is actually god awful nice of them as they will be babysitting for us while the kids are out of school on their winter break.

So what does that mean dear brothers and sisters?

That means that Alex only has Wednesday night and Thursday night to celebrate before the formal holiday visitations begin...

Can you say vodka? Can you say cigars? Can you say jam out all night with the Virus KC and DAW, headphones a balsting, til' my tympanic membranes bleed?

Anyone up for a pissup thread this Wednesday night let me know.

Cheers!

-Alex

sounds like a lot of fun... here in Italy the semester at university (at least for giurisprudence in my university) finish in these days too, but the examinations start in jan-feb period... so no break at all... we have to start study now... so have fun and drink some more beers for me too.
regards, Lorenzo

That's Thursday morning in the civilised world.

I'm going to the ballet on Wednesday evening with my kids. True!

man Alex, my hats off to you for doing grad school. I recently started looking at going back to school for my masters and had to shake my head with regards to how rusty I am with all that cirriculum.

Drink heavily my friend

Cool

Lorenzo, are you studying to be a lawyer? Will you please bail me out whenever I get arrested in Italy? Please?!

Matt, although the world might be civilized, you are not. What treachery are you planning for the ballet? Stink bombs? Fess up now. No secrets here!

Doc, if only my endeavor were purely virtuous. If I didn't get into school this semester, I would have not qualified for Stafford loan, and I would have incurred much financial hardship until I made some spare money to pay some bills. Luckily, my wife found a job after 4.5 years at home, and her first big paycheck is this month on the 18th. So, necessity is the mother of invention in this case! I do enjoy my curriculum though...Did I mention I'm buying a new DAW with my student loan? <grin>

See you all in the depths of a drunken stupor this Wednesday night. I just got home from my office. I typed up a 35 page statistics paper (22 pages of exhibits, 13 pages of analysis) and then went to TGI Friday's fomr some Italian quesadillas ($4 can't be beat!), a Mojito, and a double shot of Captain Morgan's rum. Good night! <hiccup!>

"Lawyer" in American English is equivalent to "Barrister" in the Queen's English.

Another synonym would be "Attorney."

I've been studying how not to get arrested also. It is not alot of fun...

eh eh eh I know what lawyer means... but I was joking on the fact that no, I'll never become a lawyer... so I pretended not to know the word. It isn't a good job here in Italy, too much stress.
regards, Lorenzo

Objection, Your Honour. We also have Solicitors. I would ask the court to ignore my learned colleague's last statement.

Furthermore, I would respectfully ask Your Honour to insist that the prosecution be refrained from badgering the court with his inept display of jurisdictional vocabulary assumptions doubling as inaccurate equivalents of colonial colloquialisms.
