Default What does the TI USB latency depend on?

Is it just the Virus TI itself? Or is it also the computer setup, so that different people can have a different latency? I ask because I find my USB latency is too high for live playing and constantly using the analogue outs would mean I need a new audio interface with many audio ins just for the TI in order to have 3 stereo streams into Cubase. Thanks MaF

What is your latency?
Have you tried to reinstall Virus (ASIO drivers)?

I get no audible latency from the virus itself through usb check your latency settings in your DAW (Latency compensation)

buffer: 512 samples. According to cubase the input latency is 11,something and the output latency is 23,something milliseconds. That was my question: Does the rest of the setup play a role too? But now that I think of it: yes, of course. At least the output latency will count. Ok, I am going to buy a new computer and audio interface anyway. But am I right to say that I would not need the analogue outs of the Virus (for playing with low latency) as long as the audio interface provides a latency low enough? Then maybe I am fine with a really good interface with less inputs. No I haven reinstalled the ASIO for the Virus I just updated to 3.0.6 some time ago. Nothing changed since then in terms of latency.

Constrain Latency compensation is turned off in Cubase. For the latency see above... So is your inaudible latency mainly down to your audio interface?

Do you have ablton or another daw I think there offering a free demo of live 8 full version that will die in a couple of weeks if you want to try it to see if its just cubase.

I'm not sure what the sequencer would matter. I think it's the audio interface respectively my computer which breaks down in certain projects when decreasing latency too far. It's very old. However I will try 256 samples as a buffer and then I'll see if there's any difference. The question now is, whether a new, fast computer and a good interface increase my chances fora lower USB latency of the TI?

Watch my specs below...

I could operate my MOTU down to 64 buffer 96KHz-that's nearly 0 latency- without a glitch if i turn graphic card acceleration off but i leave it to 256 buffer just to be safe...Latency there it's about 2ms which is pretty good IMO.
If you want latency free playing you have to get below 5ms and if you use Ableton Live just hit that "LIVE" button.

Ok, and this is via USB and not the analogue outs?
