Default Post Count Drop????

I just noticed my post count reads 867. I have over 1100 posts here. Does this mean some of my posts are lost or is it a server error?

Unfortunately, the posts are now accurate - I think Sunesha trimmed the database back by deleting a load of topics (I suspect OT ones) and thus many post were deleted.

I think he was trying to save database space on the server. I'm afraid the count you see is the correct count when the deleted posts are excluded.

Sorry Merlot, its nothing personal - it has happened to all of us.

I will never need to repeat Sunesha's actions - there is plenty of space on the new server so there will never be a need to trim the database back.

Dram,
No need to apologize. I was just curious (not mad). THanks for all you did, and continue to do for this place. It is much appreciated.

Me either (posting to check).

Still, I don't mind losing a few as less posts as it makes me feel like less of an internet geek.

I think post counts should be removed!

Hey, now that I look for it, Matsa doesn't have one at all! Maybe it only counts the posts that aren't complete dribble.

some things change - HC stays the same

Yeah get rid of the post counts. Just in case my partner realises how much time I waste here (well not as much since the TI arrived)

cheers
