Default Virus TI2 - STRANGE behaviour (RESOLVED)

I've just bought a Virus TI2 Whiteout (Serial Number 95). It’s lovely!!

I have had my Virus for around 48 hours now. I have observed some strange behaviour. Please take a look at the following videos and tell me if you've experienced anything similar. I have escalated this with Access Technical Support - and will report back once confirmed. I am using OS 4.0.5.0.1

TEST 1

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mm-ZFqlGaIY&fmt=22

When I scroll through patches the LED's change position but they feel a little laggy/slow to update. I recall the experience being faster/snappier on the Virus TI. I have also noticed glitches in the display. Take a look at the LCD when changing from preset 9 to preset 10 - the transition is not smooth. When cycling quickly through patches (SEE TEST 3) these glitches can give the illusion that the Virus is skipping sounds (e.g. when moving between patches 20-30 it might appear that patches 24 and 28 were not there).

TEST 2

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDBmReSpzpg&fmt=22

I have noticed when cycling through banks of presets the same glitch appears. Look closely at the button presses/LCD readings between 14-18 seconds. Does this seem strange to you? Does it happen on your Virus? Now take a look at around 41 seconds. I use a combination of light taps and sustained finger presses to cycle banks - yet once I take my finger off there is a delay before it settles onto the final bank. Did I select that bank? Or did it glitch onto it?

TEST 3

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lF_Dhys99pU&fmt=22

Here, I am just holding down the bank select button. Did you see the glitches as it cycled through the banks? On this particular run, I could not get to ROM Z until I lifted my finger off the button. If I repeat the exercise, it'll get to ROM Z ok, but it still glitches on its way there. When cycling back down the banks it does the same thing. Cycling through individual patches has an even more pronounced effect - it actually looks like complete sounds are missing.

CONCLUSION

I would like to know whether this is a software/hardware issue - or indeed a figment of my imagination lol.

I have to admit, the whole situation just doesnt feel right. I've owned 6 Virus's before this one and I've never observed this before. I am REALLY hoping it is an OS glitch (im suprised no one else has mentioned it). If its a hardware issue then I'd still like to know....but at the same time....I'll be devasted. Its not like there are any spare WhiteOuts available.

Can anyone here replicate the said behvaiour on their own units? Using OS 4.0.5.0.1? Is my Virus TI2 WhiteOut likely to be faulty/defective? Are both DSP chips working properly? Why does it feel glitchy/laggy scrolling through patches/banks. Software bug? Hardware issue?

Please put my mind at rest. I’ve just spent a lot of money.

Thanks for your help.

I was considering reinstalling the OS (I currently have OS 4.0.5.01)

I cannot find the above OS on the Access website. Has it been pulled? What is the latest Official OS????

Access website is down right now.
