Default Virus Ti And Ableton Live

Has anyone here succeeded yet in using the Virus Ti with Ableton Live yet? I just cannot get the damn thing to stay in synch with the beat... it's driving me completely crazy!

I use:

RME Fireface 800 set to 44 or 88khz (problems occur with both settings), 256 buffer, 24 bit
USB 1 L+R on Virus Ti (I work fully within VC)
Asus P5K on board USB
Intel Q6600
Windows XP SP2

I basically have two problems:

1. If the Virus is not set to live mode, there is a significant latency in Live. Whereas in Cubase the latency with non-live and live mode are very close.
2. Regardless of live/non-live mode, the latency of the Virus Ti is variable in Ableton Live (especially with arpeggios). It drifts all over the place and drives me nuts.

Soz, all OK here - both Live 6.0.10 and Live 7.0.1

one thing that I just thought of is maybe you don't have your track and sync settings enabled? I am not in front of live at the moment, but if memory serves - you go to preferences and then midi/sync. In there I remember turning Track On for inputs from my Virus TI and Sync On for output to the Virus TI. try that out and let me know if it syncs everything up.
