Default recording software etc.

hey guys, not sure if this is the right section of the forum but here it goes..

basically what i use to record now is garageband and Reason 3.
i cant find on apples site if garageband supports AU and VST plugins (im assuming not?) so im contemplating Logic express (as i dont have $1499 australian dollars to throw on the full version of logic).
but im not sure if the plugin will work in that either.

do any of you use logic express?

im just a bit confused about the plugin/Ti side of things.

thanks

Garage band uses AU plugins I think...Not sure if you can run VC with it though. Should be able to check that out on the Access website.

There are a couple logic users here....

i couldnt find anything on access' site, but after digging around on apples support section i found this

"You can use third-party Audio Unit (AU) plug-ins in GarageBand? Drag plug-ins into /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components, and restart GarageBand. To use an instrument plug-in, add a new Software Instrument track and choose your new instrument from the Generator pop-up menu. To use an effects plug-in, select a track, open the Track Info window, and choose the effect from any effects pop-up menu."

can anyone with garageband and Ti confirm this for me?

thanks

There is a wrapper for VST's
It allows you to run a VST within an AU if you get my drift.
I'll see if I can dig it out
