Your call dude

If you feel like you say that its very important that you educate people, may I ask how often you do this educating and through what means? Is it important enough to be your full time job? Or is it not that important?

They may have done so already but the Governments haven't complied or have not provided funding, expertise and the controls necessary to curb any issues overall? I don't know.

Blaming the average Joe or the not so financially well off musician for taking advantage of technology and simple opportunity thus perhaps largely unbeknown adding to financial losses incurred by companies and artists is primarily a sign that the industry/ government is shirking a level of responsability. After all it is they who are running the show and making the money.

In this digital era the downloading of software and MP3's etc.. is very much a standard and accepted thing and is directly and indirectly encouraged by the Industries themselves. Ipods, trial and free software downloads, ISP's advertising "quicker download times" with their broadband packages etc.. etc.. etc..

Its very much a circular chicken and egg scenario, no matter if you side with artists/ industry or the consumers/ average Joe.

So music, film and whatever industry raises prices to compensate for loss?

In which case they themselves (industry/governments) in their more advantagous positions are very much to blame for not dealing with it properly also by their inability to keep up with trend and technology which they themselves are assisting in the development of and so they again target and take it out on the people in spite of their own failures and oversight.

Yeah, come on guys lets not promote software piracy here...

As a community Infekted.org does not condone the use of any pirated software!

Some of the guys that use this site write software so we should all try and be a bit more understanding.

Curious, we all go on about piracy on the www. Ok but who remembers back in the day when you would copy a game on tape using your stereo, and it was ok to record the radio top 40 on to a tape whilst you listened. They even put controls on so you adjust the sensativity of it.

Just to lighten it up a little, it is something we will never stop but maybe we could reduce it a little by not encouraging it .

Cheers
Kris

Im sure we've all downloaded a mp3, copied a cd or sampled something thats copyrighted in the past

I think the most important message to get out to people who download cracked software is IF YOU LIKE IT AND PLAN TO USE IT, BUY A GENUINE COPY
