Default Ohhh no it's the USB cable

Right here's the story...
My DAW is working with my Ti Desktop with no issues.
My Friend decided to get a Ti as well, but a Keyboard version. He tried to install the 2.0 Drivers and OS on his DAW but with no luck even after talking him through it on the phone...So we decided he bring it to my DAW to make sure it wasn't the Ti that was faulty.
Don't forget,my Ti Desktop is running great on my DAW.
We deinstalled my software/Drivers on my PC and reinstalled with his Ti Keyboard and also updated his OS to 2.0..
We started logic and after a few patch changes within the VC the Ti lost connection "USB has been disconnected" it said on the Ti display.. even using it as a Midi keyboard for other VSTs the same thing happened.. Sometimes even if Logic wasn't started it would lose connection...So just to make sure it wasn't my PC we changed over to my Desktop Ti and everything was OK.. So we changed back to his Keyboard and the problem was there again so we were sure it was a faulty Ti...Oh no !!
Just before he decided to take it away with him to send it back.. He decided to change the USB cable around which i thought was a waste of time as the USB cable worked with my Desktop Ti...We changed the cable for a Printer/Scanner USB cable...(You know what's coming!!!)
Yes the Keyboard Ti was working Perfect...
By the way,The USB cable i use with my Ti Desktop is the Cable that came with my Ti..
So I think some USB cables don't work with the Keyboard versions

You need to take a break bro... LOL!

Just kidding.

Nice troubleshooting in any case. I would have done the same thing....LOL!

But doesn't it suck when you find out the simplest answer was the right one?
You just spent like 2 extra hours of time lost when the obvious answer was staring you right in the face.

But shit..I do that all the time. I think of all the hardest possible solutions to a problem when the simplest answer happens to be right there. LOL!

Heh!

Well I didnt mean to make you feel bad and remind you. Just wanted to add...hehe

Moral of the story

Think of dumbest thing you would have overlooked first...

HAHAHA!

Thanks, might be useful information in the future. I will be sure to post successful troubleshooting here as well. It would almost always be beneficial to the forum, especially with the search engine to look back with.

I've supported PC's since 1983, and I long since stopped trying to narrow problems down using logic. Assuming that the USB cable is fine because it works with the TI desktop seems logical but it was an incorrect assumption.

I don't know everything by any means, my point is that you really do have to swap some components because you'll never know unless you try it.

Cheers,
B

Seems like there is more to this issue than above mentioned http://virusti.com/forum/index.php?a...t=0#entry15667
