I'm new to synth programming. Been playing with Massive, Monark, & a Prophet '08

When setting up the oscillators I have options to set them at a particular octave.

On the virus, if I only want to use one oscillator can I set the octave?

Yes, you can set the individual semitone value(s) from the oscillator edit menu options.

Osc 1, 2, and 3 can have independent semitone values, each with ±48 semitone values, effectively a range of 8 octaves per oscillator.

Note, however, the Sub Oscillator, if used, is always fixed at -2 oct (-24 semitones) below whatever Osc1 is, and tracks Osc1. So for example if Osc1 is set at -12 semitones, the SubOsc will automatically be set to -36 semitones.

You can also additionally set the semitone Transpose option for the overall patch. This has a further base range of ±64 semitones, effectively a range of nearly 9 octaves, on top of whatever the oscillators are individually set at.

A whole lot of range.

Dangit..... I knew it was simple. For whatever reason, I was thinking cents.. 48 cents being less than a semitone.

Thanks.

No worries. Different semitones on oscillators are also great for setting up 3rd, 5th, 7th or major/minor-chord single-fingered stabs. (As just one example Osc1 at 0 [base note for Sub too], Osc2 at -4, and Osc3 at +3 semitones respectively creates a major chord on one finger reminiscent of old skool rave samples).

If you just want greater cent detune, the Hypersaw does go further than the classic oscillator' range of ±50 cents, I've not measured it but Hypersaw goes at least ±75cents. More detune than any normal person needs!
