Default Possibility to load Patches for TI into Virus C??

Hello there,

I would like to know if I can use the patches created for the Virus TI with my Virus C.
Has anyone tried that out?

Thanks in advance!

No...not possible as the TI has different architecture and more parameters then the C can handle.

It is possible, in spite of what Prime said but they won't sound the same if they use new features exclusive to the TI (Hypersaw, Grain/Formant, new arpeggiator, new characters and the like).
Abnorm got it right.

They were probably already C banks, they definitely don't work on pre TI virus's. As someone said they are a different architecture, so it would be like trying to load patches into an entirely different synth, where as with the A,B,C etc they're the same architecture, so can transfer to older virus's just with the newer features missing.

Ok, that helps a lot.

So won't waste time collecting TI Sounds and trying out ...

Thanks a lot!

It will attempt to, but Virus C has a lot of features the Virus A doesn't have, so only the common parameters will be loaded. Things like Oscillator 3, Phaser effect, Moog Filters, various modulation sources/destinations, etc. will be ignored.

As such, the patches will only be an approximation. They may sound quite different if the patches relied on features the Virus A doesn't have.
