Default Sequencing Virus with Doepfer sequencer

Hi,

I was wondering if it's possible to control the Virus using a Doepfer Sequencer -

http://www.doepfer.de/Dark_Time_e.htm

I read that it says it controls monophonic synthesisers, i realise the virus is polyphonic, but i'm sure it could control the virus? It uses CV/gate controls but is midi too, so i was thinking it could be done via mdi seeing as the virus doesnt have a CV/gate input.

Any advice and help would really be appreciated.

Thanks

You can find it's manual if you follow the link in your mail...which states the following :

MIDI:
Connect Dark Time’s MIDI-out socket with the MIDI-in socket of your MIDI synthesizer to run Dark Time in a conventional MIDI setup without USB.

Guess that's says enough about controlling a Virus f.i.

I used a Genoqs Nemo with my Virus before....and currently use a Sequentix Cirklon for sequencing f.i. my Virus.....great stuff to make music.
I guess you will be having the same fun with the Dark Time.

Ah ok thank you.

I was also looking at an urzwerg proe as it has 32 steps and more cv/gates.
The dopefer one only has 16 steps.

What do you think of your sequentrix cirklon?

Sure, it can sequence a polysynth...but the sequence will still be monophonic.

Ok thanks for the heads up. I'm using a sequencer at the moment that can sequence polyphonic but I don't often sequence chords to be honest so it shoulnt be a problem.

I think it is the ultimate sequencer at the moment.

It's very extensive, has 5 MIDI In/Out, CV Out & USB MIDI.
The interface is updated on a very regular base, and the person who creates the Cirklon is very active on it's forum when you have a question.

Nothing but praise from me...
