Right guys - I am about to bring the site down. Just for a few minutes so that I can port the new forum across and get the latest posts into it...

Should fix the problems with the adverts popping up as well!

Tis all done - Allelujah!

Wow that has taken nearly 3 days!

The forum is now completely up to date and fully working. I managed to get all the posts and topics across so everything should be fine from now on...

If any of you find that you are missing some posts etc the PM me and I can give you a link to the old system, thus enabling you to copy your posts.

Right, off to spend some time with my missus - she is not too impressed that I have spent 3 of my 4 day bank holiday working on this!

I think Timo is making some amendments to the Domain pointing - this should resolve the cookie issue once and for all - don't forget to refresh your cookies and delete temp internet files etc...

Oh and get your suggestions in for the Infekted.org facelift...

Happy May Day,

Drammy

I wont do it until tomorrow morning. That way I can keep a close eye on the forum over the day if anything untoward happens (as opposed to going to sleep on it).

Fingers crossed...

Great job Drammy

On sections for other synths that seems to be common to alot of us, I personally think that even though there are other forums dedicated to many of them, there is alot of scope for on topic discussion of using other synths with the virus, as opposed to just using them in isolation which for many is well covered in dedicated forums.

On thing that tends to be lacking in all the various fourms I frequent is about cross synth sounds - alot of my sounds involve more than on synth, for eg a Fusion, MD or Motif ES through the Virus Filters, v-synth abuse of a virus etc. I know thees a bunch of us here who tend to treat modern digital synths like modulars with a Virus (or V-Synth) being involved somewhere

I think that loan more than justifies a section to specifically covers other other synths way beyond the 'studio equipment' section.

As for sections, I cant see even a v-synth section generating that much traffic. We allready have a studio gear section to cover DAW and outboard. I might suggest adding a general synths section with the focus very much on digital modular type abuse ('Crazy Chaining') involving a virus (but equally other synths that are common to many of us) - ie cross-synths sounds and techniques - the ultimate pad combos, bass combo, extreme rompler paino/organ/EP abuse through a virus etc

It may be worth a section for sequencer type devices (drum/bass machines, groove boxes, sequencers)

Well that was a stroke of luck, the old Virus forum has just gone down! (well at least I can't access it, apart from the old off topic area, but you can't log in any more)

hurray for drammy!

Not sure if anyone's interested but I briefly made a signature strip in an attempt to infekt/spam all my other music-tech forums by stealth, hehe, but anyone's free to use it if they wished...
