Good call OVM! Riesling is the bomb!
I prefer Kabinet, over Spatlese or Auslese, for a table wine. With cookies or a nice slice of my Mama's fresh cake, Spatlese or Auslese do the trick nicely. A glass of Eiswein once per year is good for the constitution too. My cousins in Germany own a vineyard in Landau. They produce wine mostly for restaurants and don't export it around. I will go there after I graduate for the harvest season and help out (good excuse to stay in Germany for a few weeks) as I've always wanted to learn more about vinting. Chardonnay is pig urine. Pinot Grigio is not bad if its the right one, I've actually had a few good ones from Italy...
