Hi there,
Disclaimer: I had some trouble myself (thanks to NIS 2007 and Windows Driver Signing) and I am talking about Windows not Mac. You can safely run the installer even with the TI plugged in to the USB. It will replace the older files, offer to install the USB driver (although you can safely skip it as it is not newer than 1.2.4). Then it will start the firmware update. There's nothing that can go wrong... Having said that, I had problems because Norton Internet Security was blocking pop-up ads - and I think it was treating the unsigned driver warnings as pop ups. I suggest you tell Windows to allow unsigned drivers without prompting - get to Control Panels, double click System, click the Hardware tab, click Driver Signing and select "Ignore" and OK. Cheers, B
