Well got the Tonelab last night, and since then I've spent a few hours playing around. I have been running it line out into the desk, so I can't comment what it's be like into an amp.

So what's it like?
Fuck me it's amazing!

I put it into "manual mode" (as the knobs pretty well do everything they have written there) and with almost no menu navigation I started to build patches. Couldn't be simpler for a MFX unit seriously.

The amp sims are like nothing I have played with before in the digital realm - that could be because the gain section is based on a 12AX7.
The dynamic control over the amps! Nothing, and I mean nothing is in it's class for this aspect. The amps are the reason I bought it and they are the reason it's a keeper. Even though you don't get a heap of amps, what you do get are so great. So warm and with a nice range of tones.

Some of the FX are pretty good, but at the moment I would rather use my other gear most of the time. I haven't put enough time in to really comment in detail on the FX section though.

I'm starting to understand why people rave about this thing....

And for the money - my god!
