you're right, it is a perfectly round kick straight out of the box, but I'm going for that 'www.1.fm -> club' / 'EDR Club' compressed kick sound where the kick is almost invisible, but still with plenty of bounce and impact - it's hard to describe - it's like a rubber bubble with no thump whatsoever...
the valve I use is a TL Audio Ivory 5021. I love it. http://www.tlaudio.co.uk/tlaudio/doc...ew/5021rev.htm It makes my sounds smoother than a baby's backside. When they're coming from the Virus to begin with... it's pure silk dude  Highly recommended!
