In my opinion you wont get that classic 80's style robot voice (listen to PetShopBoys - Opportunities)....not with the Virus Vocoder. The Virus' vocoder is intelligible and muffled. You can almost create a spasticated robot voice using some onboard distortion.....but i think you'd be better off elsewhere. Perhaps a future update could make the virus' vocoder truly effective.
By all means...use it to experiment with....but like most of us....you probably wont use it to treat vocals that often, if at all DS
