To my ears the Novation KS5 sounds clearer (i.e. less muddy) than the SNII. I had a KS5 for a few months before selling it. The KS5 is a great synth for those who dont want to spend too much on a Virtual Analog.
VEry good overdrive implementation on the KS5. Very nice strings, bass and leads...actually its very good at pads too. For the money you cant complain! Remember the SNII is using 1997 technology.....things have moved on a little. THe KS5 sounds fresher. This is just my opinion...... DS
