There is absolutly nothing wrong with the sound quality with the machinedrum from elektron. They are really expensive, but if you look at it - there is nothing else out there than can beat it..

drums (and not your standard tr-x0x sounds either), synthesizer (yes, you can make lead, bass, fx sounds) hardware seq. _great_ fun just tweaking new sounds

Try to find one second hand then? around 8000-9500:- SEK.
