The best way to create a choirlike sound is to use BP filters in paraller, not in serial mode. Use high Q and create a small gap between the frequency bands. By altering the gap you can create almost every vowel.
The digital waveforms are best to create choir sounds and add some saturation to spice up the sound and slow attack and decay will also help.
