End of Desk Project - Running out of Time!
Well it looks like the polyeurathane and lacquer clera coat are taking longer to dry than I expected, it's been years since I've worked with this stuff so I'm a bit rusty.
I setup the legs and top shelf together in a test configuration on the desk top:
The room will look more as intended once the whole thing is assembled and the gear takes its rightful place:
That's all for this weekend as the wife and kids will be home in 4.5 hours. Finishing mowing/edging the yard now, laundry next, then clean up kitchen (DISASTER) and then fix dinner.
No coktails this evening. Last evening almost did me in...

Thanks for the compliment, Doc, it makes me a little more hopeful about what Mrs. Hall is going to think when she gets home in 2.5 hours.
If she doesn't like it then I'm going to have get really creative in fixing this damn thing!
Hope you've had a good weekend!

Hey Timo! Nice to hear from you! Going into the racks is (1) JV 1080 (2U, with a shitload of aftermarket sound abnks from www.pro-rec.com) (2) a Motif ES Rack (1U, with a shitload of aftermarket sounds bought from eBAY) and (3) a Furman RP8 Power Strip (1U) to keep the electrical situation under control.
I'd love to get a Fantom XR though later this year, 6 SRX expansion slots is just a kick ass thing to have at your disposal with no contingencies on the old DAW.
I'm considering going mixerless, straight into my Delta 101LT and using my Mackie Control for tactile stuff. Part of me though is leanining toward dumping one pair of analog outs from each synth into my Yammy mixer and the others straight to the 1010, that way I can jam without the PC turned on if I wanna, and that's important.
Oh, an I just found a huge array of LED lights in all colors on eBAY. I'm thinking of rigging the under portion of the top shelf with green or blue LEDs, and then installing a thin piece of trim around the front + side edges of the main shelf to hide them a bit. It would look kick ass to have the whole setup glow like an alien microwave during midnight headphone jams...
I love that beer song too, very primal stuff that is, Ha!!!

Damn busy, and unfortunately the forum time took a hit in place of studio time. Been good though. How about yourself mate?

LEDs or cold-cathodes would be cool (no pun), can imagine a nice glow emanating from underneath the shelves!
Mixerless is good, it's the way of the future. People will always have nice outboard gear, synths, effects and stuff that they need to plumb into their computers, so having soundcards with loads of inputs/outputs and using them as inputs or sends/returns or the like instead of a mixer is the holy grail. Bit like a mixer and patchbay all in one!

great thanks, just built a new computer, just need to replug and install everything and then it's a full assault! How's the missus and the sprog doing? Introduced your little'un to the world of sound mangling yet?
