Nah tk, I didn't mean the audio that comes out of the Virus Control but from the Virus itself through the USB port. I've contacted your support and they answered me that the audio out of your virus through USB to the Virus Control is has a bit resolution of 16 bits only.

Ok, but you have to distinguish in the resolution in mixing and the resolution in output. During mixing or applying effects, there is need for deeper bit resolution, since due the mathematical operations you have to catch over- and underflows and you need some space so you do not loose any signal parts until you have your final signal value.

In the output you have 16 bit again, true, but since there is no conversion and mixing, the need of a higher bitdepth is not _that_ much given. You can, of course, just use another Audiocard to circumvent this.
