I would probably also get an SE1X or something to save money. I very often use my polysynths in monophonic mode too. It depends on the genre you're producing but many tracks in dance/trance music for example are playing just monophonic melodies. Sometimes the pads are the only tracks which I play polyphonically. If you have a powerful analog monosynth, you don't even need the unison mode. With 1-3 oscillators, you can get really powerful sounds. For example, most of the trance sounds which I program with my A6 use only 1 or 2 oscillators and lots of modulation. Only some JP-style supersaw sounds and string pads need unison. However, it's another story if you want to play some blade runner pads with an omega 8. Btw, you could get an andromeda + SE1X for the price of omega 8.
