That's why I find a rack or otherwise dedicated reverb connected to #A or #B effects send on outboard summing the synths before they are routed into audio interface. Scored some rather cool and inexpensive now-vintage Kawai MX-8 rack mixers from early 90's that ALSO has a totally non-related to the audio signals, midi thru function on rear of unit: 1 midi in and 3 midi thru's--Kawai has always been a rather innovative company. The mixer is actually called a Keyboard Mixer with 8 channels or of course 4 stereo with each channel having two seperate effects send channels that can be panned any way you want, with the rear two different effects send/rec'v in/outs giving you the option for effects to be post or pre fader.
I mentioned this because reverb in my opinion is the most useful effect and there's so many types of reverb out there and this would leave us to use Virus C's Delay on synth and having a dedicated pre-DAW reverb frees DSP load on whichever DAW'(s) one uses and let there be MORE tracks without worrying about plug-in effects consuming really unneccesary processing power. A little bit of delay goes a long way...kind of like salt...unless you have two DSI Mono Evolver Keyboards, which can use delay to catapult you into alien dimensions...I love the Virus C and am slowly deconstructing all presets to the more ethereal as am not so much a trance genre person and the C cand B can do SO more; and with so many shallow people judging any given synth on presets, it certainly highly contributes to the stereotype that Virii are *ONLY* trance machines---kind of narrow thinking! Anyway, just a suggestion to free yourself and even an inexpensive Alesis Midiverb can sound quite good with synths.
