Don't know if I want to sound like Jan Hammer from the '80s
But I want warm pads, bright plucks and a definite synth sound. Something different from the dark TI sound.
I know what you mean with that moment of awe in a mix. Some great basses sound completely wrong in a mix, you need to hear them in context to judge.
