Have this as my master keyboard for many years and still love the lustre retro digital tone on the JD800...used by a lot of performers from current to old skool (depeche mode/prodigy/hans zimmer (bladerunner) Loads of fab little presets around I think Faithless used the Korg Triton on insomnia (I maybe wrong just impression I've been under).

What i like most about the JD800 is that your stick a patch from the JD in the mix and you its a different instrument, unlike a lot of modern synths that tbh sound very alike.

Love 'pimp my synth' mod strip btw and yep have had to give her a clean every few years or so...those sliders gather a lot of dust. Bought mine in '92 for around a grand and still dont regret it....shes aged well and still going strong.

The JD and JV are different sound engines and less voices on the JD which I feel makes it distinctive.

Btw has anyone every got the sliders working to CC for virtual instruments. Ive never really tried

peace
