I'm 99% sure 2.7 will NOT include 64bit support (XP or Vista), based on Marcs recent comments on the other forums ("64bit support is not a priority at this time", or words to those effects).
And despite wanting to eventually go x64, I have to agree with him. It just wouldn't benefit enough people at the moment -- there's too many other things to add and fix first!!
