I don't think I'm afraid of death particularly. But when you've got kids, life takes a different dimension. You become very protective instinctively. Society, capitalism, I see them more in a Darwinian way. If one of my kids should get sick, I would want the best modern health care available. I wouldn't just say, this is nature's way, survive it, kid, or croak. I want to make as much cash as I can to ensure that I can give them security from crazy sick desperate poor people and to increase the likelihood of my genes being carried forward. It's nature's big trick. The Buddhists know that the real game plan should be to stop fucking and get off this wheel, of course.
