And the chair is very important for the reasons you already said and because that's what you have to use all the time.
I bought a better chair 2 years ago but it still isn't the best possible chair. I guess I'm gonna buy a new one at some point but now I'm waiting for my new workstation. It's desk size is 200x100 cm, it has a big sliding shelf for a keyboard, 2x10u rack space on the sides and I also ordered 2x 4u racks for the top. I had been looking for such a workstation for a long time but didn't find one and neither didn't want to spend so much on a workstation. It cost 980 euros including shipping. At first I thought that it's too expensive because I could get another synth with that money but then I realized that a good workstation is really important and I could finally arrange all my gear nicely. I would like to work so that all my gear is in front of me and I can reach the knobs easily etc. I guess this will finally be true.
In fact I just sold my 24u rack and monitor stands. I still have my keyboard stand but I guess I'm gonna sell it too because the workstation has room for all the gear I currently have and there will still be plenty of room for other rack equipment because I've sold many synths from my rack (which I regret

).
