Of course it?s a country now but it hasn?t any historically reason to be where it is except that some extremist jews belive that god gave the land to the jews and therefore they have the rights to it witch is far out IMO. I know that certain countries and extremist groups would like to have Israel removed from the world map. I don?t agree with this but i do think it was a big mistake that the state of Israel was founded. Now it?s there and it?s to late to do anything about it...
I know that there?s a heck lot religion in it now but what i meant was that the main cause of the conflict is non religeous and this has to be solved one way or another.
About using civilians as human shields. Is isrealy lives more important than libanese? Sound like it since you think it is ok to bomb civilians as long as it?s because Hizbullah uses them as shields. I think it?s equally wrong no matter what side of the border the civilians come from. If it was up to me they could send all the extremists on both sides to another planet where they could fight until no one was left. Then all the peace loving people left could live happily everafter
