i would try processing your bass thru some amp modeling software,
the virus cant realy do much processing besides reverb,delay,corus,phaser,ring mod,filtering.
hmm thinking about it thats a whole lot!
anyway i would recommend this:
Bass guitar->amp modeling->virus TI filters.
