First make sure you have the switch set to external up on the top left, then use that knob to set the triggering level.
Then the noise knob controls ext level signal.
You know the S/M swicth we were tlaking about too. I'm pretty sure (from memory as I'm not infront of it) that you need that switched to the top setting to use the envelopes.
That should be it...
If those 3 things don't get it to work though, let me know and when I get back I'll sit infront of it and do a step by step for you.
By the way, make sure you turn the saw/square waves right down if you want to use it as a filter box only, because the external sound will trigger the OSC too.
