You can get some decent stuff with Reason if you tweak a lot. I have made few pretty ok tracks with it, but I have tweaked the finished track about 12 hours, which is insane amount. The poor mixing algorithms just makes everything sound muddy.
Cubase may seem a bit confusing after Reason, but actually Cubase is billion times more flexible than Reason. It is even pretty intuitive and very logical.
